Sean Kingston premiered the video for his Vybz Kartel-assisted singled “Chance.”
The single was an instant hit in Jamaica earlier this year when Kingston traveled to his birth country to spend some time connecting with his roots and record his upcoming album, Made In Jamaica. The reggae pop singer also visited Vybz Kartel behind bars where they discussed his pending appeal case and the state of dancehall music.
Vybz Kartel is missing from the video due to his incarceration, but Sean Kingston did a good job in keeping his memory alive by shooting the video in Portmore at the heart of the deejay’s home ground, Gaza city.
Kingston revealed in an interview with Billboard that all the singles on the mixtape were recorded and written in Jamaica. “The reason we called it Made in Jamaica is because every song on the mixtape was either written or recorded in Jamaica; the songs’ concepts, melody structures, riddims, vibes, everything, is all about embracing the real culture of Jamaica,” he said.
You can look out for productions from the likes of Xclass, Retro, Will I Dap, Dunwell Productions, Murda Beatz, and Stephen McGregor. The guest list includes incarcerated dancehall star Vybz Kartel and actress/singer Zendaya.
